Mr. Layton is a proven leader and manager. His ability to think strategically, communicate effectively, and problem-solve creatively has resulted in the successful management of projects, processes, and people for over a decade. Mr. Layton’s team offers us the quantitative information to make decisions. He is an expert in analyzing CMS data including MedPAR, OPPS, and the 5% Standard Analytical Files (SAFs), as well as survey-based data including HCUP and NCHS databases: NAMCS, NHAMCS, and NHDS. Mr. Layton is also very experienced in working with providers on data collection, profitability analyses, and operational efficiency analyses.
Under Mr. Layton’s leadership, Quorum is able to quickly generate and test hypotheses, leveraging our “big data” capabilities. Not only does Mr. Layton routinely describe what is going on in healthcare today, but he is able to predict and model what the future holds – ranging from improvements in quality or reductions in costs and attaining new technology add-on payments to re-engineering CMS MS-DRGs and APCs to accommodate innovative new technologies.
Mr. Layton came to Quorum Consulting after successfully running his own consulting company for over five years. During his more than ten years at Quorum, Mr. Layton has played numerous roles at the company, including managing and directing all aspects of our IT infrastructure, application development, and data analytics.
